Do bosses like a employee that does not do overtime when needed? Nope, so you either do it, or don’t, but if you don’t, there will always someone who will and you will just get fucked, its a unspoken rule, its just the reality of how the things actually work nowadays, just like when the owner of alibaba promotes 996 system, everyone is losing their shit, but its been like that since forever, in every country, in every company, specially in those highly paid, important jobs, there are no such thing as “its the weekend and its 2 AM, so let this urgent case rest till monday”, you need to be available always, the people who don’t do that would not land on such a job at first place

I took overtime every time it was offered in my early days. I'm now a multimillionaire. Put the time in, work hard till you collapse and you benefit later in life. But if you're lazy, you'll carry that mentality forever and you'll never own 5 cars, 2 houses, and live the dream. Not unless you're very very lucky somehow.

What? Why not? I mean okay, not every week or every day.. but you get the same amount of that whole day's. I used to help get the ration food down from the cooler (food factory), and I had to stay 1 or 2 hours. My salary was awesome. Those 1 or 2 hours from time to time, payed so much in overwork, that I got 25% more salary that month.
